📌 What is AP?

ऐसी संख्या श्रेणी जिसमें हर अगली संख्या, पिछली संख्या में एक निश्चित संख्या (Common Difference d) जोड़ने से मिलती है, उसे Arithmetic Progression (AP) कहते हैं।

Examples: 2, 4, 6, 8, ... (d = 2)

📘 Terms in AP:

  • a = First Term
  • d = Common Difference (d = a₂ - a₁)
  • n = Number of Terms
  • an = nth Term

📐 nth Term Formula:

an = a + (n - 1) × d

Example: Find 10th term of 3, 7, 11, 15, ...

Here, a = 3, d = 4 → a₁₀ = 3 + (10-1)×4 = 3 + 36 = 39

➕ Sum of n Terms:

Sn = n/2 × [2a + (n - 1)d] or Sn = n/2 × (a + l)

Where l = last term

Example: Find sum of first 5 terms of 2, 4, 6, 8, ...

a = 2, d = 2, n = 5 → Sn = 5/2 × [2×2 + (5-1)×2] = 5/2 × [4 + 8] = 5/2 × 12 = 30

  • nth term और Sum के question 100% आते हैं
  • AP दी गई हो या formula apply करना हो – दोनों पर practice ज़रूरी
